Mood: Trying hard to behave... (but isn't that just repression anyway?)

Well my mother came down today and although i was supposed to pick her up at 10:30am at Spencer Street i actually only physically saw her at 12:30pm - seeing as i had overslept (slightly! SLIGHTLY overslept dammit!) and forgot that it was a public holiday with no buses in my area. *doh!* See what a good son i am? ;)

Have got to admit that i'm really thankful that my mother is here (although she really could have given me a little more warning) and, sitting in that rundown coffee shop at the Skybus terminal, i was suddenly reminded as to why i love hanging around her so much - she really is the most patient, charming, fun and lovely lady one could ever hope to meet - and she's my ma! *grinz* (hey, hey, let's not jump to any conclusions involving the words 'Oedipus' and 'Complex' okay?) ;)

On the other hand it makes me feel so guilty for being born and making her life such a misery... ;p

Anyhow, i had missed my appointment with the shrink at 11am in order to meet my mother - which resulted in the most surreal phone call from her, where she implied that i was trying to avoid my problems by not showing up (the cheek!) - but i could still make it for the doctor's appointment at 2:30pm so we headed off to uni for some lunch (Taufiq joined us yet again - man, he's always around these days isn't he?). Well, the good news is that my blood test was completely in the clear (hey, at least i don't have AIDS), the bad news is that my mother has now been informed of my problems firsthand (not to mention my rampant solo bar hopping a while back *urk*). Most interesting moment was when they were both discussing, and agreeing, that the two of them would meet up later on to decide if i can leave the state for my little Australian tour/holiday without any reference to me at all (what the hell? Am i that far gone that i can't even make my own decisions now? Hmmm... that IS bad...). And to think that i have an exam on Friday as well...

Brought my mom back home and we had some pizza while i tried (unsuccessfully) to study until my cousins came back from Adelaide (yep - got my 'leg warmers' back as well). Well, the discipline and constant attention is good i feel - then again i'm having a pretty good day as well... no headaches, or any other symptoms and the weather was GREAT! Hmmm... maybe my ma should come more often and bring the sunshine with her... ;)

It wasn't all roses though - felt a little irked by all the smothering ("Turn down that music! How can you study?!?") at times, and she's only been here a few hours (!), but hey she hasn't said that line to me for 7 years now... memories... That and i probably need her now more than ever i guess. Can't wait until she starts cooking!!! ;p

Well, better get some sleep - gotta do that CAT scan again in the morning (third time lucky *groan*)...

Oh yeah, i couldn't believe my ears when my ma started egging me to get a girlfriend (within 10 minutes of my meeting her) and claiming that my "...mental state would never have happened if you had one." Riiiiight, this is becoming a trend with everyone i hang around with these days - people, if it happens it'll happen! That and i'm damaged goods anyway... ;p
