A sanguine temper i have not

Mood: Resigned to my fate but trying to cheer up (hah!)

Let me write this while i'm still somewhat lucid...

*argh* Treasury Management exam in the morning.

Spent most of the day at the OSS lounge tormenting Abe (i had a headache and i was bored ok?) by trying to make him admit he was in love as well as making a final attempt at studying and failing miserably... but what the heck. ;)

Another GORGEOUS day here in Melbourne today, marred only by the reoccurance of my headaches (and all the fun that comes with THAT) and my somewhat touchy temperament. The sky will always be blue in the end. Indeed. Getting harder and harder to try not to go nuts around my ma since she seems to be eternally glued to my side - it's starting to REALLY annoy me (although i know she means the best) and i'm getting more and more afraid of losing my temper around her. I yearn for the solitude i sought previously in my wanderings but... *sigh* Can't believe that i'm getting ticked off so easily these days - thinking of taking Jason's (university imposed) anger management course amongst other things. Not to mention that half the time i feel a distinct and tangible lack of confidence/clumsiness/awkwardness in everything i do. Man, i miss how it was before. And the most frustrating thing is not really knowing why. Need my shrink to figure this out ASAP.

Oh yeah, got a call from the doctor about the CAT scan. Apparently there's "...nothing too sinister to worry about..." (too sinister? What the heck does THAT mean?) and i'll be seeing her next Thursday as per usual. Well, at least there's no tumors to worry about... ;)

Apologies to Charmaine for my not being able to take you to Dizzy's last night as my ma wanted to have dinner with the family, this coming week i promise to go! ;)

A bit of fun - at the bottom of this page i've added a 'What's your battle cry?' generator... check it out! Also, looked at the number of people reading this blog (it's the Retrostats counter at the bottom) and have added a guestbook on the sidebar to try and at least placate my curiosity in figuring out who's reading this - please sign if you can! Thanks! :)

Maaaaan, i so want to watch Matrix Revolutions!!! Just like these lucky bastards at the Sydney opening premiere (Quicktime VR - drag your cursor on the image to move it around).

Also, i've decided to try and include a short news roundup again each day for your viewing pleasure (note that i try to avoid the most major headlines [such as the 'Green River Killer', Dr. Hasnan Ashwari, Sydney gang wars, etc.] unless i have something to say)... ;)

Bush signs partial birth abortion ban which "...prohibits doctors from committing an 'overt act' designed to kill a partially delivered fetus and allows no exception if the woman's health is at risk, or if the child would be born with ailments. The procedure, which usually involves puncturing the fetus' skull, is generally performed in the second or third trimester." This is probably going to be the main talking point in the US in the upcoming days - personally, it's my belief that it is the freedom of choice of the parents (and especially the mother) in deciding whether or not an abortion should proceed once provided with the correct facts and potential repercussions... The ability to make that choice dependant on their own personal beliefs along with their grasp of the situation is the important point here, and i feel that this is pretty unconstitutional as a whole. Then again, with pictures like these it does give pause for thought (WARNING: These are really graphic pictures). What to do, what to do... Some states have already issued injunctions on this new ban as a sign of things to come... watch for this to heat up.

And if you thought student elections were bad check out reports from the Philadelphia mayoral elections this year... democracy in action? ;)

A Canadian lawyer who is representing a man who shot a policeman has apologised for singing I shot the Sheriff as he left the courtroom. Talk about faux pas...

The Da Vinci Code - was Jesus actually married to Mary Magdalene? Did she have his child? Is there a secret society, of which Da Vinci was a part and who apparently hid clues in his paintings, that has kept this story alive for centuries? Do i really care? Well, yes... sorta...

You know those devices which emergency services use to control traffic lights from their vehicles to change red lights to green (well, in the US anyway)? Apparently these devices are now becoming available to ordinary motorists thanks to advances in technology and with a little help from the internet...

Is Bush bringing back the draft? If not, then why are people being asked to sign up as Selective Service System Local Board Members? This was the same draft board which was last used in the Vietnam war... Hmmm, a little ominous...

Mystery weapon takes out US M1A1 'Abrams' MBT in Iraq... Sounds like we're finally seeing the next generation of Russian RPGs - the RPG-22.

The FDA is likely to soon rule that milk and meat from cloned animals will not need special approval or labelling for sale in the United States, with preliminary findings suggesting that products from healthy cloned animals are safe. Hmmm... should consumers be told if they're eating 'frankenfoods'? Personally i think they should be labelled (although a stigma might be attached to such food) but the whole cloning for food program is, i remind you, a direct result and a viable solution to humanity's current overpopulation of the world... we brought it on ourselves people so it's pretty much moot. Live with it.

Hrmmm... a lot longer than i expected but hey, at least i'm trying to keep y'all updated on what's happening out there... It's a hobby. ;p

I'll try and keep it short next time...

Oh yeah - check this out! A disgustingly cute video of a 3-year old North Korean girl genius playing a complicated piece - perfectly - on a xylophone (thay have xylophones in North Korea?)...

And don't do drugs otherwise you'll end up looking like these ladies...

Happy Guy Fawkes Day everyone!!! Let's make like the English and celebrate his death with warm beer and fireworks... ;)

That's it, i'm off for now. Shit, that is one LONG post! ;)
