'To fill the hour - that is happiness.' - Emerson, Ralph Waldo

Mood: Feelin' fine and even a little sassy
Currently listening to: Tangerine Speedo - Caviar

My apologies to the regulars for not writing a post last night - my cousin was hogging the computer. That, and i inadvertedly fell asleep while reading Angela's Ashes in bed (not to say that it's boring or anything). If you want to read about screwed up childhoods this is the book for you...

What did i do yesterday? Not much really... the weather was great, which isn't exactly a motivation for studying per se, so i spent most of my time in the OSS lounge either daydreaming or desperately trying to control my nicotine cravings. And yes, i have to admit that i bought a pack of cigs in a moment of weakness (damn! damn!). Had some coffee with the guys and went to the local LAN cafe as usual and that was about it... (no Janice, i didn't get to watch Matrix Reloaded since Alex had a birthday to attend)

Broke Chen Hoe's sunglasses when i was getting out of the train (sorry!) but i managed to get another nice pair free of charge from @POP down at Renegade (thanks man! Funny how these things work out - i live a charmed life).

Oh yeah, speaking of Chen Hoe, that reminds me - thanks for the (really long and therefore thoughtful *grin*) testimonial on Friendster! That, and i finally found and joined my primary and secondary school groups there - unfortunately without anyone who i would know (doesn't that make you feel so old?)...

Also added a link to Byron's blog so check it out if you can (yeap, got your message man...)!

Maaaan, ever since my ma came down things have gotten so... well... BORING. Just as well i guess, what with me having an exam on Monday and then on Friday. *sigh* Better attempt to study again...

Been trying to work on my poems somewhat (heh! Like i'll ever show them to anyone!) and am currently thinking of what new or existing hobbies i can take up once i get back to Malaysia. Currently on the agenda (and in no particular order of importance) i've got:

1. Going (regularly) to the gym and continuing my rock climbing (if i can find a place)
2. Playing tennis regularly again
3. Continuing my fencing (no.1 Monash sabreur baby!)
4. Taking up another martial art (Wing Chun looks interesting...) and even gymnastics(!)
5. Learning how to dance with my mother (tango, waltz, street latin, line dancing - a mix in general)
6. Writing a book or screenplay
7. Joining the Actor's Studio
8. Brushing up on my French at the Alliance Francaise and taking up German or Japanese
9. Getting back up to scratch with the piano and learning the guitar (my bro says i should take up the bass guitar - he's a drummer)
10. Singing lessons (and maybe joining the Toastmasters chapter in KL while i'm at it)
11. Joining and working for a charity group of some sort - probably one which my mother is involved in... (maybe even a political party?)
12. Join the Selangor Gun Club and maybe continue my skeet and trap shooting (i'm aiming to get my own gun)
13. Check out the (apparently) growing jazz and music scene in KL. Also planning to go to as many shows/events with my ma as i can physically muster (helps when she's a bit of a socialite these days) ;)
14. Want to take up painting in my spare time (i LOVE water colours and pastels)
15. Learn how to finally cook something decent ( i think i'm the only person in the world who tried to make mousse au chocolat and had it ending up as an upside down chocolate cake. A very bitter upside down chocolate cake)

*whew* That's quite a load... only time will tell if i'll actually be able to get the time to do all these things on a regular basis - but where there's a will there's always a way... Hrmmm, and i am actually quite serious in considering joining the Army Reserve (although it's the Malaysian one - better do some research) and even trying for either a Psychology or International Relations degree. You're never too old! *grin*

And of course - getting a job (or maybe even a couple of small ones) and saving up enough money so that i can visit you guys again next year!!! ;)

Still have no idea as to what plans i have for the future - i suspect i'll only be able to stand living with my parents for six months or one year tops! So don't be too surprised if i reappear in Australia or end up at some other location in the near future...

Well, feeling pretty good today despite the cloudy weather so i just might saunter down to Cookie later and maybe snoop around the city for a bit... :)

Gonna go get some Subway for lunch now and maybe see how Megha's doing while i'm at it...

Now, what goodies has uncle Pat brought back from the depths of the internet? ;)

Long live North Korean Communism! Long live North Korean Sexual Equality! Long live Cunninglingus! All hail our Great Leader! Cunninglingus in North Korea - its a bit long and pretty surreal but i suspect this might actually be taken from a real speech... (and what's wrong with cunninglingus anyway?)

Plug and Pray - religion in a box! HILARIOUS!

Join the First International Protection from Crappy Porn Week of Resistance! 'Protection from porn isn't the real problem - crappy porn is'! Ain't that the truth - where do i sign up? ;)

JPG 2 ASCII - cool program that converts jpg files into ascii... I love ascii, do you love ascii?

No update later tonight as i'll be most likely studying - and please sign the guest book! ;)

Today's news roundup (major headlines being explosions in Riyadh, Jessica Lynch speaking, and Prince Charles being embroiled in a suspected homosexual affair - read yer papers people):

With guns drawn, South Carolina P.D. officers conducted a drug sweep at a local school searching for marijuana with students who failed to comply being handcuffed and arrested. No drugs were found (now THAT's a surprise!) although traces were detected in various school backpacks (no shit). The main issue here is the use of police tactics (that is, guns drawn and students sprawled on the floor with police dogs barking at them) being too heavy-handed to say the least. Pictures included.

The US 9-11 commission has voted to subpoena the Pentagon in regards to incomplete sets of documents having been provided to it in relation to the activities of US air defences on the day of the hijackings (NORAD in other words). Cool!

The homecoming king at Hayward High in Oakland is a girl. And no, this is not one of those 'he's a she' stories. And no, she's not a lesbian either. It started off more as a joke but ended up raising and highlighting gender issues and debates in the high school... something which we need more of in my honest opinion - hail to the king, baby! ;)

Update on a previous article on the pending Senate ruling over the internet tax ban. "The drive to permanently ban such taxes has been stopped dead in the Senate over the clash on whether or not such legislature would shear millions from local and state government budgets..."

A secret commando force (Task Force 121) has been created in order to specifically track down Osama Bin Laden. No surprise really but i just thought that y'all would like to know... ;)

Ciao!
