Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

Mood: Pensive and regretful
Currently listening to: Moonlight Sonata - Ludwig van Beethoven

(Written this morning) First off, my apologies (again) for the lack of updates in this blog. Nothing to do with me, i assure you, as blogger was down for the last two days (or at least during the times i tried to log in)...

Didn't do anything overly interesting on Saturday, slept in the lounge the night before with Jason to ensure that we wouldn't be late for Melissa to pick us up for our NLC meeting with Chai and Chen Hoe. It ended up pointless anyhow because she failed to show up! Again! Hmmm... having some serious doubts about my 'succesor'. Wanted to talk to her about it but her phone was off all day. It's all a bit strange, really, since it's not like her at all to (consistently) not appear at a pre-arranged meeting when it was agreed upon - still, my patience is wearing thin and it's putting me (and Chai) in a spot, especially since i was the one who recommended her... :(

Anyhow, the day was dominated by NLC affairs with a small meeting between the Victoria branch in the morning, followed by the NLC Executive face to face session with the other state convenors and then dinner with most of the same people plus Ravi. Won't bore you with the details, but i do wish that i could stay on, at the very least just to observe how most of the items on the agenda resolve themselves... ;)

Sunday... hrmm... can't really remember anything except meeting up with Jason in Caulfield for a short while just before he left the country - will see him in a few weeks anyhow. Hung out with Alex for a bit and played some Generals and had some coffee... All good.

What did i do today? Packing. And more packing. Oh, and four hours of Call of Duty at Renegade (finally finished it to boot)...

(Present)Not exactly in a cheery mood at the moment and i'm not really sure why... I think it might have to do with the packing. I was sifting through my various 'mementos' (strangest being a wooden cow - forgot i had that) and was struck by all the regrets that i will be taking with me when i leave. *sigh* Well, it didn't quite work out as planned i suppose but, hey, at least it was better than my previous attempt... Damn.

Ahh... the dark, sacred night. Isn't it amazing how everything seems to be asleep and at peace during this time? Except for those pensive few...

Full moon tonight. A good night to reminisce and talk to my old friend Lune... she's always been there for me, no matter where i am or what i've done, and she's the best listener there is... a little light on the replies though... ;)

Hm. Truly, the greatest tragedy is not to be found in losing, but in almost winning. Damn. But that's between me and Lune...

Today's Links:

The Golden Age of Comics (uncensored) - Hilarious! ;)

The ten most overpaid jobs in the US - Ain't that the truth... Hmmm, maybe baggage handling isn't such a bad career move!

The Trojan Games - (thanks to Byron!) As in the condom brand... check out the videos! Is this for real though?

Perdue touts faith-based initiatives - "[Gov. Sonny Perdue] said he would like to broaden the role of faith-based organizations beyond social services to include help for prison inmates and youthful offenders... Perdue's plan for increasing the involvement of faith-based groups in government-funded programs closely resembles what President Bush is pushing. The president has several agencies, including Housing and Urban Development, Labor, Education and Justice, looking at how they can join with faith-based groups to provide public services... Georgia's Blaine amendment prohibits money from being 'taken from the public treasury, directly or indirectly, in aid of any church, sect, cult or religious denomination or of any sectarian institution.'" So much for the seperation of church and state...

LIBRARY, the musical - [Video] What the...?

Secret Service checks Eminem's 'dead president' lyric - "The Secret Service is trying to determine if any action needs to be taken regarding a lyric from rapper Eminem that may be a threat to President Bush. The lyric comes from a bootleg Eminem recording - one of several from the rapper making rounds on the Internet over the past week. In the song called 'We Are American,' Eminem sings: 'Fuck money, I don't rap for dead presidents/ I'd rather see the President dead.' ... A Secret Service probe is routine when something that could be construed as a threat to the president is brought to agents' attention." Yeesh.
