I'm a glutton for punishment

Mood: It feels like my arms are either permanently flexing or trying to break away from my body
Currently listening to: Where is the love? - The Black Eyed Peas

Okay, one more postponement on the plan update thing... in no mood to finish writing about it (i've got half of the planned post saved on blogger as a draft) as almost every muscle in my body is currently striving to outdo the other in causing me the maximum amount of misery possible... :(

And as such, going to keep this post short as i need as much sleep and rest as i can possibly get tonight in order to prepare for my supposed 'inauguration' to 'proper' Muay Thai kickboxing tommorow by trying to last 5 minutes in the ring with some insane pro kickboxer who breaks punching bags for a living (i really hope they were kidding...). You see what i mean? :O

Let's see... spent most of today trying to change my bank account from Public Bank to Alliance Bank. No real reason other than the fact that its closer to my place and has more ATMs (apparently) than Public Bank. Took me almost 4 hours as i had to find the original branch where i made the deposit for the first time, which was in Damansara, during the peak lunch hour... Ah, to drive in Malaysia again... i truly believe in the statement that if you can survive driving here you'll be able to drive anywhere. Never have i seen so many people owning decent to great automobiles but lacking in any shred of common sense when actually driving them. Those who live in KL will know what i mean... ;p

Came back home and played squash with my brother for an hour and a half, followed by an hour in the gym with weights and then 20 timed laps in the pool... *argh* Arms felt like lead... maybe i'm taking on too much? Or perhaps its just that i'm not used to having done such intensive excercise in such a long time? Anyhow, going to try and stick to the plan... Hmmm... really should try and do such things in the daytime when the sun is out so that i can get a tan... ;p

Was supposed to meet up with Kwong Heng at KLCC but it was just too damn far away... so i opted to go to Coffee Bean on my own for an hour to try and get some writing done. Hrmmm... still holding on to some old Melbourne habits. That and i've only just noticed the relative scarcity of friends here in KL - most like Victor and Johnny have gone overseas for the week, while others are working.

Well, at least i'm keeping this blog regularly updated... need to plan my Singapore and Jakarta trip soon...

Hmmm... also thinking of paying for this blog so that i can put up some pics as well... what do you think?

*ouch* Need sleep now...

Today's links:

The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest - "The bone-chilling scream split the warm summer night in two, the first half being before the scream when it was fairly balmy and calm and pleasant for those who hadn't heard the scream at all, but not calm or balmy or even very nice for those who did hear the scream, discounting the little period of time during the actual scream itself when your ears might have been hearing it but your brain wasn't reacting yet to let you know." -- Patricia E. Presutti, Lewiston, New York (1986 Winner) Check out the 'Lyttony of Grand Prize Winners'... Hilarious! ;)

How to write in plain English - A useful guide which a lot of people (no names or organisations here) should use more often... aka, 'Cut the crap'.

12 Days of Kitschmas - More fun at the expense of the Church - Gadgets for God! ;p

Xtreme Martial Arts - Some pretty well done animation from the Discovery Channel showing martial art fighting techniques and weapons... Cool!

Israel unveils Saddam assassination plot - No surprise really... too bad they had to call it off when 5 of the soldiers for the mission die in a training accident (apparently some smart-ass replaced their dummy training missile with a real one... military intelligence? No such thing! *grin*).

A Net of Control - "Issues 2004 - Picture, if you will, an information infrastructure that encourages censorship, surveillance and suppression of the creative impulse. Where anonymity is outlawed and every penny spent is accounted for. Where the powers that be can smother subversive (or economically competitive) ideas in the cradle, and no one can publish even a laundry list without the imprimatur of Big Brother. Some prognosticators are saying that such a construct is nearly inevitable. And this infrastructure is none other than the former paradise of rebels and free-speechers: the Internet." One to defintely watch out for, and from MSNBC no less... i'm sure you can see the irony in THAT! ;)
