"Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday." - Marquis, Don0 commentsMood: Tired and lazy - think the exercise might be getting to me... Currently listening to: We are Family - Sister Sledge *yawn* Fell asleep a while earlier until my ma woke me up (computer problem) so my update with my 'plan' will have to wait until tommorow... kinda yearning for my bed badly at the moment... Yeah, yeah... procrastination... ;) Come to think of it, i was having the strangest dream just before she woke me up where i was being chased through the clouds by a mob of care bears... Remember them? Yeah, weird dream... woke up just before 'Grumpy bear' (or whatever his name was - the one with the rain cloud on his belly) was trying to put an axe in my head. Damn bears... ;p Aaaaanyhow, went to Sungei Wang plaza with my brother for most of the day. He had to get his PS2 fixed/modified and buy an adapter so that he could listen to his CD player in the car, i went along to try and find out some laptop prices at Imbi and Low Yat plaza (aka black market central). Seems like i'll have to be setting my budget at about RM5000 by the looks of it, although i'm still pondering if i should just get a desktop after all... It's cheaper to buy, more powerful and upgradable. On the other hand, the laptop might come in handy since i'll be doing a lot of travelling in the coming month - not to mention not really knowing where i'll be in the not-so-distant future... That and i just like the idea of drinking coffee at Starbucks while checking my email or playing Civilization 3! ;) Oh yeah, also thinking of getting an iPod! Always wanted an mp3 player and it would be great as a portable hard drive... might look at the cheaper options (it goes for RM1600 for the 10GB one) but the iPod just looks way cool... *grin* Mac, ya gotta love their style man... Had dinner with my parents at the Royal Selangor Club in the city - basically more mamak style goodness with fried kueh teow, rayfish, and satay... Was supposed to go shopping with them in the city right after but i received a call from Julian, which was a surprise since i had thought he went off on Monday, who asked if i could have coffee with him and Joa down in Bangsar... Was under the impression that he was going to leave the next day so took the LRT to Bangsar where Joa's friend Nick was nice enough to pick me up. Went to San Francisco Coffee House where we chatted for an hour or two over cappucinos and found out that Julian is going to be staying until Monday... well, that's love for ya... ;) Made plans for this coming Saturday with them and then got a lift back home... Hmmm, need to take my godfather shopping tommorow for a leg of lamb so i'll need to set a reminder for myself... Going to sign up for kickboxing tommorow as part of my 'Get Fit' plan... pretty nice place nearby with plenty of equipment (including ring) for twice a week at RM150/month with a session of Tai Chi/aerobics/pilates thrown in. Not sure if i've got the time to do those so might try to pass it off to my mother... Also managed to get in touch with the KL fencing club but am still not sure what the membership fees are but will hopefully get it all out of the way so that i can start next week. Also going to start Hash running soon (at least after i build up some stamina!) by getting in contact with my ma's old friend at the British embassy. Finally, going to meet up with another of my mother's friends who is an NGO of some sort and heavily involved in volunteer/charity/rights organisations - hopefully i can find something to my liking there. Also need to find Chen Hoe, he icq'd me that he was down and i gave him my number so i'll just have to wait (hoi! If you're reading this give me your number dammit!!!), to ask about his friend who runs the Toastmasters association here in KL... Anybody got his KL number??? Geez, sweating bucketloads here but i guess i shouldn't complain what with Byron saying that Melbourne is hitting 40 degrees these days... :o Also read Janice's blog, and am still considering going down to Batu Pahat to visit her if i have the time... hoi! Come to KL! ;) Hrmmm, better leave it at that then... need to get a fresh start tommorow since i need to do some gym and swimming again... Today's Links: Q: What will happen when a national political machine can fit on a laptop? A: See below - "Back in 1937, an economist named Ronald Coase realized something that helped explain the rise of modern corporations -- and which just might explain the coming decline of the American two-party political system." Interesting article which shows the effects of the Internet revolution - the fact that information gathering is that much cheaper and faster (near zero in fact) - and its effect on political campaigning now and in the future as shown by Howard Dean. Man to take US citizenship at 104 - Who says life can't begin anew at 104? ;) Jesus IS Hitler - Boy, some people have a lot of spare time on their hands... (nazimail? wtf?) Naughty Pixel's AVGPA! (Accidental Video Game Porn Archive) - Sexual innuendo in video games? Outrageous! ;p Asia Blog Awards 2003 - Consider it inspiration to my fellow bloggers out there! Its listed by country so check it out... heh! I put down mine for a laugh... ;p The Adventures of Russian pop stars TaTu (a comic) - Yeah i was bored...
