There should be more days like this...0 commentsMood: Tired and dehydrated Currently listening to: Nothing other than the sound of my ma on the Game Boy (Tetris i believe) Busy last two days during which i usually stumbled home at about 4am in the morning in a state not really conducive to writing my blog updates... Well, spent most of Friday and Saturday staying at home helping my ma with the housework and doing some gardening, going for lunch/shopping with my parents and brother, and trying to play a game of tennis (rain didn't help), although i did manage to go to the gym and swim on Friday. Went to an open house from one of my dad's business associates and talked to his friend Eric Bijouie - asked if i might be interested in doing some work for his company which is a political and economic risk management thing... sounds interesting and up my alley so will see where this goes... Went out with Joa, Julian and Jonathan (geez, almost everyone i know has a name beginning with J) to this Thai restaurant/bat in the city called Bar Savant - or more affectionately as 'Pass the bun' after some prior miscommunication as to the name of the place... sounded kinkier i say... ;p Really swanky place with some excellent lighting and a 2:1 ratio in girls to guys... Really liked it a lot and managed to get to know some of Joa's friends, but otherwise drank three jugs of beer, talked about old flames, and life in general with Jonathan during the course of the night. Cool place, i'll definitely be coming back again in the near future... ;) Saturday night was a somewhat more casual affair... started off with me, Jonathan, and Alvin meeting up with another fellow secondary school mate called Siak Kong and his friend, David, in order to go to some Hitz FM party at this place called Viva... It sucked. Sure we got a free gift bag and a beer (as well as see Kwong Heng dance!) but i have never felt so old at a nightclub in my life! Seemed like everyone was 16 or less and i felt like one of those stereotypical 'dodgy' old men who try and walk the pedophiliac tightrope... :p Anyway, long story short, we left the club and went to another place near to where i live called D'ostrum (or something like that)... Was under the impression that it was a RM50 'all you can drink' beer fest on that night but i didn't notice the, extremely tiny, date on the banner. Regardless, we managed to sweet talk the manager into giving us their happy hour rates (RM55 for TWO jugs of Tiger! YEAH!) and soon enough we were merrily chugging down no less than eight jugs of the bitter in quick succession... Great lounge, with a great view but with hardly anyone there that night - which was just as well i guess since Jonathan was wowing the waiters with some bar tricks he knew... Had mamak and stumbled home with Jonathan having to spend the night at my place as well... Today? Well, took Jonathan and my bro for some LAN gaming nearby... haven't really played Generals in quite some time now so was a bit rusty, but it was a good game nonetheless. Joa, Julian and Kwong Heng came over to my place later in the afternoon to watch Bowling For Columbine on my brother's PS2... Geez, FINALLY watched the entire movie! ;) Had to drive Kwong Heng back home to Cheras and, during the intervening time, forgot to tell Joa and Jules that i wouldn't be having dinner with them since i had to go eat with my Godfather... which resulted in them being... err... 'politely' kicked out by my dad - sorry!!! ;p And that's my life so far... for a recovering alcoholic i think i'm actually doing worse here than in Australia!!! On the bright side at least i'm not drinking alone right? ;p Week in review... well, things are going all right i guess. The exercise routine is working out, but i haven't quite managed to get any painting done just yet. Also, the charity and fencing things are a little harder to arrange at the moment because the people i'm suppose to talk to have disappeared for the Christmas holidays. Kickboxing is definitely going ahead next week, and i really need to meet up with Chen Hoe soon - he's been here a week already! ;p Let's see... plans for this week... aside from my annual family Xmas dinner, Jonathan's dad has sort of roped/asked/bribed us three eurasians (Johnathan, me and my bro) for some FCUK modelling thing on Wednesday... geez, what can i say? They MUST be desperate! ;p Hmmm... need to decorate the house as well for the party, and i still have no definite plans for New Year's. Also, thinking of getting in touch with my ex... ya think? Mentally wise (for those who have asked) i've been doing pretty well, just my usual sins and no really weird stuff in the last few days, although had some headaches today but i suspect that its more of a hangover *grin*... see? Coming back home is just what the doctor ordered! ;p Whoa! Check out the time... need to get to an early start so i'll leave it as that... And yeah, i really should get on ICQ more often... Today's Links: Strong Support Is Found for Ban on Gay Marriage - Thought America was a little more liberal than that... damn bible thumpers. The Strange Case of the Hanover High Shocker - Ever heard of the hand gesture called the 'Shocker'? Caused an outrage at this highschool... never heard of it myself but apparently it indicates 'going to town with one in the brown' - high schoolers will never change eh? ;p Top 20 Definitions of Blogging - Yup, that about sums it up... and to think that there was a conference on blogging at the Harvard Law Campus recently! Guide to Philosophy on the Internet - Awesome and pretty comprehensive reference list to anything to do with philosophy on the internet which makes for good reading/browsing... gonna add this to my links for future reference sake. Lawsuit alleges cult rebuff led to firings - Man, Exxon is one weird company... Saddam was held by Kurdish forces, drugged and left for US troops - No real surprise... it was only a matter of time before someone he had ticked off previously would get back at him. Those blood feuds are pretty nasty...
