Blue skies and salty air here i come!0 commentsMood: Festive Currently listening to: Nothing in particular Well, just finished packing for my trip to Langkawi for the next three days... bound to be good because of the good ol' formula for a good time: beach + cheap food + Bikinis + dirt cheap alcohol = Very drunk and happy Pat! ;p Didn't do too much today other than trying to get to Adecco in order to find a part-time job, too bad it was closed for fumigation or somesuch... Man, THAT was a waste of time! Played squash with my brother again and realised that i still haven't beaten him ever since i got back but at least i'm winning some sets now! ;p Hrmm... had dinner and... that's about it i guess... Man, this is one lame post. On the bright side Chinese New Year is coming up, so is my Singapore trip (hopefully) on the 15th, and on top of that Louisa is coming dowm to visit this week (sorry i'm not around until Fri/Sat! Treat ya to mamak ok? ;p) so hopefully the social calendar should pick up nicely... also got a birthday party which Joa asked me to go to - or at least i think she asked me to come... oh well... ;p Went blog surfing for a bit... seems that Boon couldn't leave on his flight because of VISA issues but as we speak he should be on his plane flying back to a (very) cold Canada. Janice is back as well - hoi! Try and pick up some of those teenagers girl! ;p Hmmm... wonder what happened to Byron? His blog has been (strangely) silent for quite some time now... Ok, need to sleep now as we have to leave at 9am, will try and write regularly from Langkawi if i can find a decent cybercafe down there... ahhh, it's good to be back... ;) Today's Links: Sextuplets Born to Rare White Tiger - "One of only 210 white tigers in the world has given birth to sextuplets, boosting the animal's endangered population, Buenos Aires Zoo officials said Tuesday as they allowed the cubs to play in public for the first time." Yay! And they're so damn cute too (love those blue eyes)! ;) China pondering its own 'green card' system - "With China-world economic ties becoming increasingly close, more foreigners are likely to pour in. Then should China institute a "green card" system? This means issuing permanent residence permits to foreigners who hope to live in China permanently? A recent interview by our reporter with entry/exit control departments reveals that the nation will introduce a "green card" system of its own in 2004." Well that's globalisation for ya... ;) Govt may repeal Oral Sex law - "A LAW banning oral sex between consenting adults in Singapore may be abolished, the government said today after the community reacted angrily over the jailing of a policeman for engaging in the act with a teenage girl." Well, well, well... maybe Singapore really is a first world country after all! Now if i could only say the same for Malaysia... :( German government builds 225,000 euro frog tunnel - "Germany's cash-strapped government is paying 225,000 euros ($285,200) to build a tunnel to help frogs avoid the perils of a busy road, officials said on Monday." That's very nice of them and all, but isn't there a better way to do this? And how many of these tunnels will they build now that they've created one? Jersey's brave new world - "The lame-duck New Jersey State Assembly is poised today (Monday) to pass a bill members of President Bush's Council on Bioethics contend will permit human cloning. This manipulation plows new ground in the struggle over whether there should be moral limits on science's relentless thrust. With federal anti-cloning legislation stalled in the U.S. Senate, the Garden State takes the first step toward a brave new world." Whoa! Definitely going to follow this one... You Can Buy Land On The Moon! - "That's right! Now for a limited time you can buy land on the Moon! There are over 1,125,000 lunar land owners from 176 countries around the world. To date more than 300 million acres have been issued to people from all walks of life here on planet Earth." What the? And how did they resolve the legal dispute on this one? Then again the ads on this site are so... well... corny that i'm thinking this might be a bluff! Then again, i DID see an article on this a while back on the BBC... meh. Too sleepy to check. :p
