Good Morning Malaysia!0 commentsMood: Whoa Currently listening to: Sunrise - Simply Red Hrmm, not quite sure as to what happened last night but i seem to have woken up at 6am - and what a beautiful sunrise it was! Geez, the last thing i consciously remember doing was writing something down straight after dinner and then suddenly, wham... Hrmm, feeling pretty spritely though! ;) Wednesday was a pretty relaxed day as far as i can remember... spent most of the day in Adecco filling out forms and searching for some temp work, followed by a movie in the evening with Kwong Heng, Yee Ling (i think i screwed up the spelling here) and Sue-Lyn with the usual mamak straight after. Can't seem to remember too much about the conversation but the movie, Paycheck, was pretty good... sorta like a cross between Memento and Minority Report with Ben Affleck playing a man who has had his memory erased and who has to backtrack in order to decipher the subtle (to say the least!) messages he has left for himself (and he plays a reverse engineer - oh, the irony). Hrmmm, gotta admit that it seems like every scientist (Affleck included) seems to be a martial artist in this movie... ;p Now yesterday... spent the vast majority of the day having an interview with CSA in order to get the temp job... Looks like IT support. Pretty simple since it mainly just involves me running around to various Maybank branches in order to inventorize, clean, update and check on their computers. Meh... maybe they'll let me play with the server a little as well? ;) Seems all right i guess... especially since i'm only looking for something to tide me over until the end of February, and at RM6/hour it IS somewhat low but whatcha gonna do huh? At least they're giving fuel, parking and toll allowances. AND i need the cash!!! Bleh. Simple and tedious... Strangest part is that i have to do this maintenance WHILE the bank is operating! Should be interesting... ;p The real difficulty i suppose would lie in trying to find a part-time job once uni starts in March... :( Hrmm... guess i could do some charity work in the meantime... Went to the pasar malam with my ma, and played some Generals with my brother and that was pretty much my day! (argh! Didn't do any sports!!!) Ok, going down to the gym now and might catch a tan while i'm at it! ;) Oh - and on a side note - why is there suddenly an upsurge in my webtraffic today??? Todays Links: A Girl with an X-ray vision - "Moscow's medical workers discovered a magnificent gift of a sixteen-year-old girl Natalya Demkina from Saransk. The girl possesses "dual vision". She is capable of discerning a person's internal organs without using X-ray or ultrasound." Erm, perhaps i should just note that although Pravda (which means 'Truth' in Russian - irony sirens going off again) was once a very respectable, influential and important paper in Soviet Russia its articles these days seem to border on greater and greater incredulity... ;p hackers_rule - If the world spoke l33t... ;) Topless woman on 'flight from hell' - "A TOPLESS woman on a Virgin Blue flight to Melbourne shouted at nervous passengers that she had a vision they were all going to die in a September 11-style tragedy. During the one-hour ordeal the woman yelled out for the plane to stop, took her top and bra off and defecated in her pants." I still say the best part was the pilot describing the whole incident as an 'environmental anomaly'! :) Talking dirty may be the best way to help a person increase their vocabulary - "Mazer figures teens are more likely to remember a word in a racy context so she tells them stories about her dates, like the lifeguard who stripped naked and "wasn't diminutive if you know what I mean." Free erotic stories at school? And of your teacher no less? AWESOME!!! ;p Burger King Rolls Out Bunless Burgers - "Burger King's (search) rollout of breadless Whoppers this week is a nod to the low-carb craze that's sweeping the nation — and the latest evidence that the burger wars are taking a turn for the healthy." Oh for crying out loud... low carbs don't mean eating fewer carbs but burning those carbs faster!!! Wesley Snipes Named as Halle Berry Abuse - "Actor Wesley Snipes has been exposed as the abusive ex-lover of Halle Berry, who struck the actress so hard, she lost most of the hearing in her right ear." *Gasp*! Not Wesley! ;p A glass of red wine in a pill - "Scientists in Italy are developing a pill that will have all of the health benefits of a glass of red wine. The move follows a string of studies suggesting the tipple can protect against a range of conditions, including cancer and heart disease." Haha! I wonder what my French grandfather would say to this! Hmmm... 'sacrilege!' probably... ;) Venezuela may let starving steal - "Thou shalt not steal, say the Ten Commandments, but it might eventually no longer apply if you are starving in Venezuela. The poor, oil-rich nation is considering decriminalizing the theft of food and medicine in cases where a thief is motivated by extreme hunger or need." This is quite frankly the stupidest thing i've read today... clearly the road to disaster is paved with good intentions, because can you imagine the crime rate if this came to pass??? I say they should spend more time trying to solve the problem at the bud.
