It feels like somethin's heatin' up, can i come home with you?0 commentsMood: Boppin' along... Currently listening to: Seniorita - Justin Timberlake (+ Neptunes) After reading Boon's post i just had to go along with the title... i think its the only Timberlake tune that ever got stuck in my head... ;p Yeah - scary, i know... ;) Got my resolutions pretty much set in stone... will type them out when i'm not too lazy! ;p Didn't do too much yesterday, all i remember was dropping off Boon at the train station in the morning and then hanging out with my old friend Latiff in the evening... Hmmm, pretty depressing day i suppose, what with all the goodbyes and everything... :( Went to Bangsar with Lat, but Kwong Heng and Leonard couldn't make it so we came back to Sri Hartamas to hang out with Lat's friends (hi Naz!) playing pool (god dammit!!! I have gotten so bad its an utter embarassment) and foozball (marginally better)... Never realised they had a place like this so close to my place, must go there more often to train up... ;) Got to know his friends a little better at the marathon mamak session (4 hours!!!), interesting bunch to say the least, so y'all just give me a call if you ever go to Starbucks now y'hear? ;) Did very little today as i've suddenly been feeling a bit under the weather (*koff koff* Throat is killing me) so spent most of the day at home dozing, playing some squash and just bumming around... hrm, did go to KLCC with the family just to look for some shoes... let me pls just reiterate for those of you who may not know - it's DAMN hard to find a pair of shoes my size here in KL!!!! ARGH!!! Ok, me sleep now... Oh, but just before i go, i've added two new blogs to my list - ladies and germs, please welcome Boon (if you haven't already) and Jolly Lucifer (aka Patrick - shorter, darker and meaner!) to the blogger family! ;p PS: Thanks to Boon for writing my blog (lazy bastard that i am) - hoi! Still need me to return the favour? Today's Links: The Year of the Monkey - Pretty detailed analysis of the upcoming year from Master Lo's website... Essential reading for all those born in 1980! Go monkeys go! ;p The Face That Launched a Thousand Sites - "Who in America best typifies the Internet? America Online (AOL:NYSE) Chairman Steve Case? eBay (EBAY:Nasdaq) CEO Meg Whitman? What about Al Gore? No, no and no. The answer is The Internet Guy. You've never heard of The Internet Guy, but chances are you've seen him. Out of the millions of people in the U.S., it's The Internet Guy (let's call him TIG) whom many online companies have chosen when they want to put a human face on their Internet businesses. With an amiable mug accented by thick-rimmed glasses and spiky hair, TIG has graced magazine ads, billboards and Web sites for everything from online music store EveryCD to comparison-shopping service CompareNet to online guide About.com (BOUT:Nasdaq) in the days after the company changed its name from MiningCo.com." Hrmm... anybody else heard of George Chen? Yeah, me too... but he DOES seem familiar somewhat... ;p Strip from Sinfest - Women are evil! ;p The Fermi Paradox - "Proposed by physicist Enrico Fermi, the Fermi Paradox attempts to answer one of the most profound questions of all time: 'Are we the only technologically advanced civilization in the Universe?'. The Drake equation for estimating the number of extraterrestrial civilizations with which we might come in contact seems to imply that we should not expect such contact to be extremely rare. Fermi's response was that if there were very many advanced extraterrestrial civilizations in our galaxy, then, "Where are they? Why haven't we seen any traces of intelligent extraterrestrial life e.g. probes, spacecraft or transmissions?". Those that adhere to the premise behind the Fermi Paradox often refer to that premise as the Fermi Principle." Intriiiiiguing! Technological singularity - "The technological singularity is a term with multiple related, but conceptually distinct, definitions. One definition has the Singularity as a time at which technological progress accelerates beyond the ability of current-day human beings to understand. Another defines the Singularity as the culmination of some telescoping process of accelerating computation taking place in this universe since the beginning of human civilization or even life on Earth. Yet another defines the Singularity as the emergence of smarter-than-human intelligence." Anybody else read Future Shock? Oh, and on another note - Wikipedia rocks! Sitandspin: The straight man's guide to enjoying gay sex - "Let's identify some of the common ways for a 100% straight man to engage in gay sex, along with some of the common misperceptions." (scroll down a bit) What the...?
