Liches and Swamis, oh my!

Well, fever broke yesterday so i'm feeling a lot better now - energetic in fact! Ahhhh... what a great feeling, nothing like a little feebleness to appreciate the wonders of youth (and an immune system which only allows for 24 hour bouts of flu)! ;)

Hrmmm... have to remember to not go too crazy on being able to work out again due to the infrequent bout of dizziness...

Oh yes, and if you're wondering about the title of this post let me just say that the fever-induced dreams did not fail to perplex and entertain me... (hah! With a vivid imagination like this who needs HBO?)

Woke up in a sweat at 7am after having this weird movie-like dream, long story short, about this liche (or liches? Well, i would describe it as a liche and I think there were two, but one killed the other) who kept possessing the bodies of some American teen holiday makers in France (typical eh?) through a weird chant she would make (even works on a mobile phone) to which they killed off the rest of the group and a bunch of investigating cops in horrendous ways, and... er... i don't recall so much anymore (it was pretty detailed if i remember, with like a crypt beneath the building and all these reasons as to why the liche could not survive outside... damn, don't you hate how you forget dreams so quickly?). I think they found a way to square the liche off against a mummy (or another liche), and then some wannabe monster-hunters (who died grotesquely), until they finally found some swamis who could get rid of the thing in a final battle that involved 'destiny', 200 chanting Indain kids and two Indian yogis with sticks or somesuch taking out the liche...

A bit B-grade but... funky. Yeeeaaaah... I give it a 6 out of 10. ;p

As you can imagine i didn't do too much yesterday - some odd tasks here and there, picking up and signing off some cheques and going to uni for a short while to keep Leonard company. Went shopping with my ma later in the evening at Midvalley and ended up buying a pair of swimming trunks from Quiksilver. Met up with Leonard later in the evening at Sri Hartamas to play some C&C, have mamak and catch up on some gossip and that, as they say, was that... Tonight is promising to be a more active (not to mention intriguing) one since Leonard has managed to cajole a variety of people to meet up at Bar Savanh including, amongst others, my ex (whom i haven't seen or spoken to in 2 years), Leonard's gf, the guy from PWC who is going after his gf (remember him?), Leonard's bro + gf (note: his brother is insanely outgoing), Joa, and mucho others... *ahem* Boy, something tells me that the last thing i'll be is bored tonight (what a great time to suffer from bad skin and 'overheating', grrr...)!

Well the only other incident of note yesterday is the fact that my car's brakes gave out on me while i was motoring down at about 100kph on the LDP... Yes, MY BRAKES. There i was happily cruising along when all of a sudden the car in front of me starts to slow down, therefore requiring me to tap down on the brakes, to which i actually ACCELERATE. At this point its not so bad because i'm thinking to myself that i must have accidentally pressed down on the accelerator (lord only knows i've done that a few times... blur lah!) but no, its the brake all right. Thus follows some fancy driving/swerving/swearing, shooting past a red light and almost ramming into a gas canister carrying truck (again with the gas canisters!) while frantically trying to find some way to slow down, brake, or turn off the busy highway. Ah, yup you've gotta love these moments... ;)

Managed to screech to a shuddering halt on a side road (after discovering that if i pressed the brake down hard all the way i was actually managing to slowly decelerate), but MAN that was fun! ;p Anyhow, made it to uni on a wing and a prayer (not to mention some really slow and careful driving) but when i came back to the car upon leaving uni the brake was fine! Weird.

I think it has something to do with the hydraulics on the brake - i ain't no car expert but there was no resistance on the brake at all (in fact there was a hissing sound). Hoping that this won't happen at an inoportune moment again in the future so took it to the mechanic this morning... man, this Peugeot 405 is going to be 10 years old in April and after this i think its seriously time for a new car...

*sniff sniff?*

Mmmm... can smell my ma's beef rendang... lunch!

Ciao...
