Lundi. Meh.0 commentsMood: *yawn* Must type this at least a little earlier... :p Currently listening to: Walking on Sunshine - Reel Big Fish *Note: This is the THIRD time i'm writing this!!! Computer kept crashing (DAMN YOU REALMEDIA!!!!!)* So anyway, another long boring day... went to my tute in the morning, bummed around in the library for about four hours and then found out that the lecture i was supposed to attend was cancelled. Thanks for the notice Monash!!! Grrrr... Oh well, at least i found out that my assignment is due on Friday and not tommorow (yes!)... ;p Other than that i went to the gym and then met up with a very stressed out Kwong Heng at the Starbucks in Times Square (mmm... ice blended mocha heaven) to catch up and cheer him up a little. And what news it was! Here's the results of all three of our speed dating matches: Kwong Heng: Samantha, STAR reporter (can't recall her name) Quentin: Samantha, Ally Pat: Ally Uh-oh, looks like an impending love (dating?) triangle! *doh* Should have seen this coming... Anyhow, being the responsible and mature young men that we are we have decided to duel it out with beer as per 'last man standing' rules - winner takes all! :O Ok, not really, we'll actually just be meeting up tommorow to try and coordinate our actions other so that we all don't become (complete and blithering) pawns to the ladies... (evil! ;p) That is, unless... unless one, no - both! - of them are trying to get the jump on me! Hah! Not if i get them first! MWAHAHAHA!!!*Pat runs through all the possible scenarios through his suspicious/evil/sadistic mind* ;p Well! And just when i thought life was beginning to get boring! Will the three amigos tear their friendship apart over a lady? Will they work together to find some compromise? Will they all just mope around and get drunk while cursing women as the eternal damnation of man? Or will they all just go to a strip club? Oh! The tragedy! Oh! The sorrow! Oh! How... er... very Shakespearean this is getting... Watch this space! :) *ahem* In other news i have finally started adding some new songs to my playlist to make up for the current lack of music in my life (in more ways than one! *sniff*). Currently having a strange fetish for ska at the moment so its all mainly Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, No Doubt and the like... Also have a sudden obsession with getting that song I Love You Baby at the moment - no real idea why... Think i've got something in the region of eight different versions right now... (Paul Anka is still the best!) :p Erm. Aaaaaand thats all folks! :) Today's Links: U.N. Warns About Ocean 'Dead Zones' - "So-called "dead zones," oxygen-starved areas of the world's oceans that are devoid of fish, top the list of emerging environmental challenges, the United Nations (news - web sites) Environment Program warned Monday in its global overview. The spreading zones have doubled over the last decade and pose as big a threat to fish stocks as overfishing, UNEP said its Global Environment Outlook Year Book 2003, released at the opening of the agency's 8th summit for the world's environment ministers. The new findings tally nearly 150 dead zones around the globe, double the number in 1990, with some stretching 27,000 square miles." You reap what you sow people... Emergence of Juror Leaves Tyco Judge in Legal Quandary - "In touching her thumb to her forefinger and appearing to flash the "O.K." sign to defense lawyers Friday, a juror in the trial of two former Tyco executives may have made the most expensive hand gesture in the history of criminal law." Study that might have saved lives kept secret - "Upon learning that the 1999 study had found a stroke link, the drug makers opened a relentless assault on its methodology and on the integrity of the Yale University researchers who conducted it. They did so despite having paid for the five-year, $5-million study themselves, approving its protocol and handpicking investigators who had expressed skepticism about a link between PPA and stroke." *sigh* Regular Sex Makes You More Intelligent - "Additionally the injection of endorphins and serotonin that you receive once you orgasm increases self confidence, giving your mind and body a physical workout." Hmmm... need more sex. No, need sex - period... ;p Class-Action CD Lawsuit Ends in Refunds of $13.86 - "“You can look at it as some wonderful result that came down from the heavens and rained $13.86 on the people,” said Michael D. Friedman, head of the entertainment practice at Jenkens & Gilchrist Parker Chapin, LLP. “Or you can look at it as a concoction by the lawyers to create some perceived consumer benefit, but in reality is a vehicle for them to collect fees.”" Porn on the road shocks mom, lawmakers - "Kathy Holden was trailing a Humvee through Memphis one day when she saw an X-rated film playing on a screen inside the sport utility vehicle. As a growing number of motorists outfit their cars with DVD players, dirty driving could become more common whether it distracts the driver or is viewable for passengers — as well as passersby. Some lawmakers are concerned that a convenience geared to entertain restless tots with cartoons is being used to play X-rated fare. “I was very shocked and surprised,” says Holden, 41, of Olive Branch, Miss., who still has a difficult time talking about what she saw 18 months ago. “I just could not believe that people had the audacity to do that.”"
