Les Nuits0 commentsMood: In the doldrums Currently listening to: Les Nuits - Nightmares On Wax Still haven't left the house. The nightmare slowly continues, for the sixth night in a row, and my isolation from the world at large continues to be (happily?) maintained... Argh! Concentrate dammit! MUST absolutely finish this horrendous piece of work by tonight otherwise there is simply no point in the further continuance of this subject. Do or die time. Must. Write. Assignment. And. Ignore. Sleep-deprived. Brain. Wait a minute - isn't that a paradox? Then again, isn't everything? *insane laughter ensues* Meh. On another note it seems like almost everyone (those who have bothered to update their blogs today at any rate) is in a similar state as i am, or to a certain degree anyway - how strange. Was reading Charlene's blog just now and she posted some pretty interesting points there (Tuesday May 18th - she doesn't have a post's link for some reason). The first is in regards to blogging in general and how one should be wary in forming a view or impression of the writer based upon what he/she writes. To wit: "You are being presented a view, and sometimes an insight, into a particular facet, not the whole, of the blogger's life, persona and/or character. Sometimes, you can't even be sure if that view and/or insight is true." Can't deny that and i'll be the first to admit (as i've said a few times before) that what i write is scrutinized and sanitized prior to publishing. What i DO present here is true enough though (i'll admit that much) although in many regards it is incomplete with certain said facets, views or events stricken from the record for... various reasons. I believe this to be the same for everyone, because i simply cannot believe that the vast, VAST, majority of people out there can possibly wear their heart, or mind, upon their sleeve but merely provide a glimpse of it to one and all. "Among my most prized possessions are words that I have never spoken." - Orson Rega Why? Because they are the words from the past that all too often define us the most. Whether they be unspoken words which are now reminders of regrets, hopes, fears, or what have you, these are the words of the utmost honesty and truthfulness with ourselves, in our relationship with our thoughts, our existence, our heart and even the world at large. They are the words which remind us and drive us to change, that reveal to us the awful, terrible honesty of our thoughts, opinions, desires and the truth of our being at that point in time, showing us a glimpse at who we really are. And THAT's why these unsaid words are so precious. Deeply personal fears, hopes, thoughts, experiences and desires should remain just that - deeply personal. *phew* What a rant... hope that sorta makes sense. The second part of her post refers to a poem entitled 'Loneliness' by a certain Mario Heilmann - and the words are certainly something that i feel i can, and always have been able to, relate to. As i'm sure some of you out there can as well. ;) Hah! Laziest post ever! Seeing that i took all my inspiration from someone else that is... Until next time, remember to keep a loaded firearm around you at all times - you never know when you might want to hit that big 'Reset' button. Hey, that's our right as well - God be damned. Apologies in advance for the grammar as i'm not in the mood to reread what i wrote. The nicotine summons me to the balcony above... ;)
