Mucho Coffee + Cigs = Insomnia *sigh*0 commentsMood: I should be sleeping Currently listening to: Fly Me To The Moon - Diana Krall Ok, new links added, Malaysian Idol image changed (the other was just too damned big!) and am still working on finding a decent poll to display on this site - any suggestions people? As for today it was, yeah, kinda busy i suppose... ;) Spent the better part of the afternoon at the Adecco agency in PJ (they're a temp agency) in order to find a job to keep myself occupied in the meantime. That, and i was starting to get tired of my mother nagging at me to be a little more active in...well, life in general. It went pretty well though since i managed to snag an interview almost immediately. The only catch? Its with CSA, the same company i worked in a while back. Seems that they need either a part time computer maintenance staffer for their outsourced clients or someone to man the night shift in their call centre. Hrmmm... i'm thinking that the maintenance worker gig is based upon the clients we had to attend to in our previous stint so getting hired for that should be a cinch since its likely that i helped install most of the systems in the first place! Then again, that call centre (help centre?) job sounds a bit... well, different to what i did before AND it caters to my rabid insomniac tendencies! That, and if i recall correctly from my previous chat with one of the call center staffers they've got a games room and free cable internet access to play around with in those off-peak hours... ;) Ah well, might as well check it out for the timing and pay at least. On the bright side the guy who's interviewing me is the same dude as last time and i DO have that commendation letter and full-time job offer they presented to me at the end of my last stint there, so it should be a given thing. Wonder if any of the other guys are still around though... *sigh* Was actually hoping for something completely different though. Think i'll search around a little more... I don't know, i just want to try out something else!!! Maybe waitering? I heard that SOULed OUT is looking for some... Or how about peddling ciggies? I'll try anything dammit!!! ;p So anyways, went to uni after that to hang out with Selina for a bit. Well, actually i was supposed to help her with her blog but we ended up going to Sunway Pyramid for some coffee (Coffee Bean - where else?), conversation and browsing instead. I think i rambled on about something in my usual way that i was supposed to write in here but... er... i really can't remember what it was (Sel? A little help here?). Dammit, thats the problem with these coffeeshop conversations, they're just not THAT memorable (no offense to anyone!). I did get a nifty pink, sparkly hair clip in the shape of a dog, which some poor sap had left behind, out of it though! Yay! Something to wear with my pink, sparkly 'Rockstar' t-shirt! ;p *ahem* Yes. Now where was i? Oh, went for a seafood feast with my parents and Godfather at a restaurant near Kelana Jaya which we have affectionately nicknamed Fatty Crab. GOOD food man! And made even better by the insane quantity of fine wine that my father always brings along for such occasions. Hehehe, looks like chili crab leftovers and wine for breakfast tommorow! ;) Oh, and here's a little torture for those poor seafood loving Malaysians (or Singaporeans - but what do they know about food anyway? ;p) who happen to be currently overseas freezing their collective asses off: Delicious! I love Malaysia... Heh, just be thankful i didn't put up any mamak pics here! ;p Anyway, i shall now move on to some news about Zamil himself for the benefit of those who asked... Oh, and from now on, if you see the Idol pic below, it means i'm going to talk about the contest, so if you ain't interested in the whole thing or Zamil's progress, you can stop reading now, 'k? I met up with Joa and Zamil at the Starbucks in front of Times Square to catch up on the Malaysian Idol gossip from the man himself (seeing that the so-called Malaysian Idol Insider hasn't been updated for some time now! Pathetic man!!!). Well, first off it seems that i was a little off in my previous rant because he hasn't been confirmed as being in the final 20-odd people who will be confirmed to be appearing on national TV. What DID happen however is that over the course of this weekend plus Monday (and, it think, the last two days) Zamil has been placed along with the other 113 contestants in the Melikayu Hotel (did i spell that right?) - with free accomodation and unlimited broadband Internet access. Seems that they're now slowly chopping down the numbers with daily auditions over this period of time and he's got two (three?) more to go before he gets into the final cut. Currently he's in the final 75, and tommorow's audition will narrow this down to 50 and so forth until the final pick is done on Monday. Cross your fingers people! ;) He says he's holding up pretty well and even managed to wow the three top judges during today's audition, with many compliments such as his ability to "...make it look effortless...". Looking good! He did say he was a bit nervous about the competition though, since many of the other final 75 have multiple accolades from various local singing competitions... But do we care about 'em? Nah. GO ZAMS!!! ;p Hehehe, and despite having Internet access it seems that the schedule is a tad punishing so he hardly has time to write his blog (although he HAS updated it recently), but he's actually noting everything down in his PDA in the meantime to post after Monday. Can't wait to get an inside look! ;) *phew* And that's my PR job done... ;p Ok, urgently need rest now. Pat out.
