Sour Times

Mood: Heartburn - time to quit smoking methinks...
Currently listening to: Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head - Burt Bacharach

Last exam today.

Disaster.

Although i got there almost half an hour early i could not, for the life of me, pluck up the courage to remove myself from the car. I just couldn't. I just wouldn't? :(

This went on until 30 minutes of the exam itself had passed. Managed to drag myself to the room by this point. Couldn't bring myself to go in though. So there i sat, for the full remaining two and a half hours, pacing up and down the corridor. I won't even say what was running through my mind at this point. And then, fifteen minutes before it ended, i discreetly left before anyone might recognise me. Ach.

Didn't bother going to the Toastmasters meeting today either.

Dammit, happy thoughts! Think happy thoughts!!!

*ahem*

Felt better once i was home and by the time evening came around i had even managed to arrange a mamak session between myself, Joa, Zamil and Chen Hoe. Apparently Chen Hoe went for the Toastmasters meeting after all and was even called upon for another impromptu speech, although he can't recall what it was about or what he even said! Hoi! Sorry for not coming! ;p

Also managed to do Zamil a favour by printing out the various release and contractual documents for his Malaysian Idol audition on Friday (his computer wasn't working) - its at Times Square between 10-1pm so, although it will be done in private, you're quite welcome to come along to provide him with some much-needed moral support! You can even keep me company. ;)

Hey best of luck Zams! :)

Hehehe, we were even joking around that since i was going to be there i should try out for the Malaysian Idol walk-in audition, in order to try and get on national TV with some sort of zany (ie. bad) rendition of sorts! Now wouldn't that be something? I'll see how imaginative i can get prior to Friday... Personally i think they should create a show with a little more local flavour - Malaysian Bomoh Idol anyone? ;)

Although i doubt any judge might want to make any degrading comments about the winner in this one! ;p

Speaking of the whole Idol franchise, it seems like the creators of the original are thinking of doing some sort of Rock Idol themed show next year whereby the winner would join an existing rock band and immediately begin touring with them... Sounds cool, and it really is a little more up my alley in terms of musical tastes. I wonder if they'll sanction any Sex Pistols antics though?

And lets forget the suggestion for that Porn Idol idea (it was an inevitability) - "After the registration round, auditions will be arranged in the major Scandinavian towns. The participants are to fake orgasms, but they are not to have sex at this point. In the final round, Rocco will hire two women and two men, all professional porn actors, to have sex with the competitors. The winner of Porn Idol will get the opportunity to participate in a porn movie whose budget exceeds 200 000 Norwegian crowns. However, Rocco envisages an even bigger profit for the winners."

Hey, i'd watch it! ;)

Hrmmm... just read another article which cites Bush as... well... beginning to 'lose the plot'. The man is seriosuly starting to display Hitler-esque tendencies these days with his paranoia running rampant and anyone disagreeing with him being removed. Sure the article is a tad light on the evidence with its unnamed sources but, hell, he seems like the type. That, and imagine the stress involved. His job alone would crack anyone.

And while we're on the topic of politics, today is interestingly the day the USS Liberty incident occured. The what? Well, here's a gander:

34 American servicemen are killed and 171 wounded when the highly-conspicuous U.S.S. Liberty is strafed twice in 75 minutes by Israeli fighters and torpedo boats. The American spy ship happens to be sitting in international waters, 15 miles off the coast of Egypt, monitoring unfolding events of the Six Day War. Israel soon labels the incident a regrettable "error," claiming that they did not realize it was an American ship. For some reason, the United States pretends to accept this laughable explanation as well as a large restitution payment for the damage incurred by the vessel.

34 dead US servicemen and they laugh it off? Geez, at my last count it took approximately two weeks in Iraq for that same number of casualties to occur. Dodgy.

Bleah. Can't think of anything interesting to say. And i'm tired. Here's some filler:

The smallest fully grown dog in the world! (pics included - he's soooo cute!)
Higher status leads to a longer life (and yet more incentive for me to get rich as quickly as possible)
Coalition: 'Shrek 2' wrecks family values (*sigh*)

Sleeping pills kicking in.

G'night.
