Its Been A Long Day0 commentsMood: Tired - its been a long day Currently listening to: Nada. *sniffle* Ah Friday, my favourite day of the week. Nothing could ever possibly go wrong on Friday, its a day made for joyous expectations and a quick dive and swim into one's social well-being or for just being the harbringer of rest and solitude. Hell, it sure beats Monday. Schtupid Monday. So anyhow, i got up at about 6am this morning (*urgh*) after about an hour of sleep in order to go and apply for my MyKad with my mother at the PJ office. For those who have not experienced governmental bureaucracy in Malaysia, such a process can very often take up the whole of one's day, trapped in a dilapidated building, and stuck in massive queue which consists of the various elements that make up human society from rich Chinese tycoons (as evidenced by the Polo shirts) to immigrant Indian labourers. Ah yes, governmental protocol (read: inefficiency) - the great equalizer of humanity... ;) Actually, it didn't seem that bad at first. Until we realised that we were in the wrong waiting room and got directed to a long queue that seemed to be emanating from a different doorway which lead, we assumed, to the proper counter where our forms would be processed. This 'room' in fact turned out to be none other than the building's three level stairwell which led to the densely packed line taking up the space of another large room at the top. Which led, finally, to a single open counter which - lo and behold - allocated to me a number by which to attend the actual processing counters. *SIGH* And all this at 7:30am in the morning. Welcome to Malaysia punk. On the other hand, they did at least have the courtesy of estimating the times (on a large chart) that one should be present with their number. Ours ended up as being somewhere in the vicinity of 11-12pm which allowed us the luxury of leaving the squalid environment in order to run back home for a few precious hours. Returned at 11:20am, found that they had passed our numbers already and, after some begging, we finally got the thumbprints scanned and the photos taken on the spot. People, it really does help to play the hapless well-to-do non-bahasa melayu speaking citizen once in a while... ;) Came back home, had some lunch, and then hung out with Julian for the rest of the afternoon for mamak, some Battlefield 1942, and the inevitable Counterstrike that followed. This lasted for a fair amount of time, after which i went to the gym, watched Malaysian Idol (see below for updates) and then went out for a night on the town (or more specifically, Bangsar) with Julian and Joa. Had a pretty good time - had a drink at TMS (i forget what it stands for) and then some coffee at San Francisco Cafe with the usual enjoyable banter/teasing/chatting that took place. Ahhh... to be with friends. Of course they were egging me on to try and approach some girls there but i just wasn't in the mood tonight... *licks finger and touches ass. Nope, not even warm* Meh, maybe tomorrow night if we go for salsa... ;) Yup, that was my day. Urgh, sorry if it sounds unenthusiastic but, hey, i've been awake for almost 38 hours with about an hour of sleep. Tired manz... zzz But not before i get to some other updates and miscellaneous stuff: Well, i finally watched this week's episode of Malaysian Idol and caught a few quick glimpses of Zamil on it. And by quick, i mean like micro-seconds... aside from a few seconds when they did a quick interview with him in his hotel room that is. Hell, he's in the final 33 and they haven't even shown a single clip of him singing yet! On the bright side his jumping and smiling figure WAS the last thing that one saw at the end of this week's episode, and there's a clip of him singing (sans sound) when the credits are rolling. This is in complete contrast to some of the other contestants to which the camera has latched itself to throughout the competition, thus building up a somewhat unfair advantage in regards to the audience familiarising themselves with these certain characters (and their singing) - which is outrageous as actual audience voting will begin next week! I ask that everyone who reads this kindly post a complaint on Zams (and a few other final 30 contestants) behalf on their Insider Website forum! I know that i will! Well, tomorrow at any rate... ;p So, yeah, looks like Zams is facing some stiff competition this coming week and on Sunday he'll be moving back into the hotel to prepare for the next elimination stage (that is 3 or 4 contestants out of each group of 11)... Its a crucial time so PLEASE TRY AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET ALL YOUR FRIENDS HERE IN MALAYSIA TO VOTE (multiple times pls) FOR HIM!!!! As for the website, i'll be interviewing Zams and getting some pics of him this coming week so that we can kick off the fansite that Tedy's set up for him. I'll to include some bio, clips and other stuff about him up there, as well as try and get the forum going - so be sure to check back by Wednesday. In the meantime you can leave your comments/best wishes at Zamil's blog, ok? ;) Oh, and for the benefit of all those overseas people, i'm trying to get the current tapes transferred to a .mpeg format in the meanwhile (any takers with the equipment?) and perhaps either burning and sending the CDs down there or putting it up via FTP (anyone with enough space/bandwidth?). Please let me know via email thanks! *urgh* All blogged out now... Might do some quizzes though. Hrmm...
