Friday the 13th eh? Bah, damned paganistic 'days of fear'...

So anyhow, did virtually nothing of note today. In fact i never even left my house! Spent most of it in some deliberation over my assignment (the online game one) and doing about three hours of gymning and swimming... Its been a fair while since i last did any exercise and, whoa, i can honestly say that i feel a lot better (and not to mention slimmer) for it! ;)

Stayed at home tonight so that i could watch Zamil in action on Malaysian Idol and to watch the Olympics opening ceremony - a quiet night all in all.

So... what to talk about? Lets check this scenario (in the third person! Yeah!):

1. Pat has a lot of time on his hands at the moment.
2. Pat has done nothing worth talking about today.
3. Pat is not in the mood for a rant about anything - he's got time but its been a very thought free day... ;)

Which can only result in me posting up all sorts of random stuff i suppose. Aimless, but oh so very entertaining i'll wager... ;p

First things first though!

Zamil Idris - Malaysian Idol Update



So tonight's competition is over and after watching all 12 performances i can safely predict that Zamil will be making it through to the next round. I mean, even the judges were commenting on how lacklustre everyones performances were tonight save for about five of the contestants who received praise from the judges (of which Zams was one). Yeah, it was that bad... maybe its just me but the singing was mostly pretty off tonight and for some reason most people seemed to be putting more effort into their 'dance moves' (and i say that cautiously) than their singing, and more often than not their choice of songs were bad to say the least. Case in point being the guy below (Fadzli/Fazly?) wearing a bright orange top and attempting to sing and 'dance' to This Love by Maroon 5 (utterly abysmal to say the least) while the girl on the right (Nikki - i think) was actually rapping to Crazy In Love by Beyonce. 10 points for the guts to try something creative and different but... no. Just... no.

As i mentioned before, Zamil was singing a malay song tonight (Januari) and by God he sang it pretty damn well despite, mind you, having informed me prior to the show that he was recovering from a bout of fever and the pain + swelling that his budding wisdom tooth was putting him under. What a trooper! ;)

And the judges verdict? Roslan Aziz had the best comment when he informed Zams that his own father was voting and supporting Zamil! Howzat! Fauziah Latiff praised Zams as well while Paul Moss just reiterated his doubt that our man in the spotlight could sell any albums other than to Aunties (and Roslan's father i guess). Geez! I mean, what the hell??? Zams, just ask the man to his face what song he'd like you to sing - the man is annoyingly unoriginal with his criticisms this week! Still, he did say that you would definitely get through and did not negatively say anything about your singing ability - so thats pretty much 3 out of 3! :)

Still, watch your ass man! I'm predicting that you are going to be getting some serious competition from Jac (left) and especially Dina (right) - i thought she was awesome tonight!



By the way - sorry for the difference in pic sizes and quality but thats the best they had on the site...

So, yeah, its time for me to drag out the ol' RM100 bill and get my SMSes done by the time Saturday is over. Think i'll chuck one or two Dina's way as well... ;)

Yup, Zams is bound to get through - no worries there mate!

As an aside, i'd just like to mention that this is the first Malaysian Idol episode with a live studio audience (and a big one at that) - they even managed to pan the camera over Zam's parents a few times and, man, those are some big banners his supporters are waving!!! Hrmmm... i wonder if there are any videos online already?

UPDATE! I'VE FOUND A GREAT VIDEO SITE FOR MALAYSIAN IDOL!!!!

Just went around for a bit of searching online and it seems like Idol Online has taken down the previous video clips for Malaysian Idol and i'm not sure if they'll put up any new ones (boo! Hiss!). On the other hand, i HAVE found an even better site - the homegrown Malaysian Idol Viewers Site which has ALL the videos - including tonight's! Damn, this guy is efficient... ;)

You can view today's videos here - make sure you bookmark this page and vote for Zams on the popularity meter there! Damn man, we need more sites like this for all you overseas guys, its much better than the official one since he updates FREQUENTLY... ;)

Unfortunately it seems like the older videos are missing since they were being mirrored on the Idol Online site... Damn. Looks like i'll have to take care of that this week.

Lets Talk Pussy

As some of you may know i have a... ah... certain fondness for cats. And as such i was looking for a proper .gif animation that could be my avatar when i suddenly came across this site: The Infinite Cat Project!

Strange title eh? So whats it all about in order to warrant a place in this post?

Well, according to the guy who runs the site its sorta like this:

Oh God! Its on loop! No, its too sad i... i... i've got something in my eye *sniff* But that poor, brave kitty... i... nooooo!!! *runs off bawling*
