Is It The Monkey In My Pants?0 commentsMood: Now with extra kvetch! Oy! ;p Currently listening to: The TV Super short post tonight - i'm pretty damn tired now... *yawnz* So, yeah, the weekend was pretty ok. Went for my usual French class on Saturday afternoon and had beers, mamak along with some good ol' LAN gaming with Joa, Julian, Leonard and his (seriously woman-starved) friend. Albert and Alvin didn't put in an appearance since they went over to Zouk for the Guinness Black party where Al apparently got some girl's number... Not bad for a guy who's only been back for three weeks! ;) Good times, yeah. Went for Karaoke with Joa and Jules this afternoon at Red Box for a karaoke with her work(?) mates. It was fun i guess, i mean what with me being the only single guy in the room and all (not that i was feeling overly sociable at any rate). Only got to sing one song though, and the food was... was... Actually, lets not go there. Other than that i spent the weekend at home spending a lot of time in front of the computer doing my assignment(s) and downloading frightening quantities of mp3s. Urgh. Sleepy now so lets just get this over with... Zamil Idris - Malaysian Idol Update Yup, you can all rest easy folks, our man is in without a hitch! Well, looks like the top 8 eliminations are up this coming week so be sure to vote once again yeah? In the meantime i'm going to try and meet up with him sometime this week to try and spin off a few ideas off him for the next round. In the meantime, i'm gonna suggest that he put in an appearance at the Toastmasters club again this Tuesday. Why? Because its like an affirmation camp in there - granted a very influential affirmation camp - and i'm sure the members' natural zest, ability, and generally overexaggerated bonhomie can be put to good use in building up support (and votes) for Zamil. On the flipside he might be advertised by them as one of their members, but hey that ain't asking for too much right? Just a thought - one of many. Is this the answer to God, the universe and all that? Oh look, the Higgs boson theory is back... "They call it the God particle: a mysterious sub-atomic fragment that permeates the entire universe and explains how everything is the way it is. Nobody has ever seen the God particle; some say it doesn't exist but, in the ultimate leap of faith, physicists across the world are preparing to build one of the most ambitious and expensive science experiments the world has ever seen to try to find it. At a summit meeting in Beijing yesterday, 12 experts from countries including Britain, Japan, America and Germany announced they have agreed on a blueprint for the new experiment - a gigantic atom smashing machine called the international linear collider. Now they must convince their respective governments to meet the anticipated £3bn price tag. Buried underground away from vibrations on the surface, the collider would accelerate particles from opposite ends of a 20-mile tunnel at near-light speeds and smash them into each other head-on. One stream of particles would be electrons; the other would be positrons, their antimatter partner. The scientists hope the resulting cataclysmic explosion of heat, light and radiation will recreate the conditions found in first few billionths of a second after the big bang. And when that happens, they hope the God particle, otherwise known as the Higgs boson, will show itself." Geez, even previously atheistic scientists are searching for God... Granted, they think he's in a 20-mile tunnel but that's a helluva lot better than some other theories out there. God. Bleah. Random Webcomic Strips Arrrggghhh... Way too tired for this - so have some filler, these are some comic panels which caught my eye recently... These two are from Sinfest: Of course thats what we hope for. In reality our first contact will more likely end up along the same lines as the one below: This one's from Ctrl-Alt-Del: Apparently this reminds a certain someone (who shall remain anonymous UNTIL i kill him/her) who brought it to my attention with a... ah... 'reference' to an event that took place some time back at which i was... erm... present. WAY back. Too far back for any of you out there (*glances around*) to remember. ;) Ok, thats it. I'm gonna go collapse now.
