'The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves'

Hrmmm... before i begin i was previously listening to Bizarre Love Triangle (Jewel's cover of the New Order classic) and i couldn't help but think of poor ol' Leonard's current 'situation', something which i don't think it would be right to comment upon here.

*consilatory pat on lenny's imaginary back*

Haven't posted lyrics in a while so... hey buddy, this one's for ya.

Bizarre Love Triangle

Every time i think of you
I feel shot right through with a bolt of blue
It's no problem of mine but it's a problem I find
Living a life that I can't leave behind

There's no sense in telling me
The wisdom of a fool won't set you free
But that's the way that it goes
And it's what nobody knows
While every day my confusion grows

Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
I'm waiting for that final moment
You'll say the words that I can't say

I feel fine and I feel good
I'm feeling like I never should
Whenever I get this way, I just don't know what to say
Why can't we be ourselves like we were yesterday

I'm not sure what this could mean
I don't think you're what you seem
I do admit to myself
That if I hurt someone else
Then I'll never see just what we're meant to be

Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
I'm waiting for that final moment
You'll say the words that I can't say

So, yeah, moving on, it was a pretty interesting weekend.

I mean, can you believe that i actually went to ZOUK???

An accomplishment of the highest order i assure you (and which those who know me will readily attest to), but its amazing what a guaranteed table, free entry AND two free bottles of booze can do to change my mind...

I blame Joa. ;p

So anyways, Saturday started out like it always does for me - busy. Tennis in the morning, followed by dance class after lunch (we're doing the mambo now), a quick session in the gym, and three straight hours of French class right after (*sigh*).

Hrmmm... reminder note to self - French exam this coming Saturday... *GROAN*

The evening was better though. Went to Leonard's place for Terence's farewell BBQ and met up with Gib and a couple of other new characters like Gulshan, Dell and Ken who will probably be making future appearances in this blog.

Great BBQ! Personally the sheer amount of dead animals being cooked (or should i say smoked?) in a trough in the middle of the yard should have been enough to cause any PETA representative present in our midst to break down in tears... That, and the sheer size of the piece of pork which Terence happily wolfed down made my heart clench from imaginary blocked arteries just by looking at it.

I mean... dude, that... thats just WRONG, man! ;p

Went to Zouk with those at the BBQ afterwards thanks to some handy free e-passes, watched the models prancing about at the product promotion (the point of the e-passes, it was for some new drink called... called... ah, whatever, tasted like crap anyway), met up with Joa, Jules, Sneexe and Chen Hoe, and had a surprisingly good time overall... so much so that i may juuuuuust go again - AND buy the bottle for once!!!

Or not. ;p

Actually just about the only blemish to my night was the fact that some of my ex-Secondary schoolmates were seated nearby. I have an uncontrollable (and at times, inexplainable) dislike for them but, hey, at least i got to meet up with Taro again.

Oh, that and the only OTHER blemish might have been the fact that the people we displaced with our reserved table were none other than a posse of FHM models...

Ach. :(

Well, other than that, Sunday was a much calmer affair consisting solely of tennis with the ladies (who have now brought along THEIR sons as backup) and a lot of time spent in front of the PS2, which probably explains the lack of a post...

Took my brother to Sungei Wang to get his PS2's laser realigned today (no PS2??? NOOOO!!! Errr... and thus this blog post *aherm*), went to the gym, and suffered continuously at the hands of Jolly Lucifer's constant long-distance SMSing. Yes, its his birthday but there's something else up that may just, once again, prove that wacky 'six degrees of seperation as applied to Patrick Roger Wei-Min Pincon' theory...

More on that some other day though.

As an aside - DUDE! Just email me dammit!

Whoa, long post...

I think i'll post some articles and nod off. I DESERVE to sleep now you ungrateful sods. ;)

Aphrodisiac TOMATOES?

Full article here.

BLACK tomatoes are to go on sale in supermarkets across the country.
And the super-sweet variety, called Kumato, are said to make you feel RANDY.

Their aphrodisiac qualities were discovered in the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific, where they were originally grown.

Giant tortoises who ate them are said to have mated more than others who had the usual red variety.

The new tomatoes — being grown for the British market near Almeria in Spain — are also healthy, with high levels of vitamin C and antioxidants.

They have had trials in 30 Sainsbury’s stores and were a hit with shoppers. They will now be sold in 100 branches.

A spokesman said: "We had a four-week test period and sales were fantastic. They totally sold out. But we don’t know if they have the same effect on humans as they do on tortoises!"

Black tomatoes you say? Hrmmmm...

*dead hamster in its wheel within Pat's head starts turning*

I still just say that its a marketing ploy - EVERYTHING seems to be good for your sex life these days... (assuming you have one *sniffle*)

Slimming Pills = Lesbian Children?
Full article here.

TAKING pills for slimming and thyroid problems during pregnancy may increase the possibility of bearing lesbian daughters, a study has revealed.
Researchers studied thousands of pregnant women to study the effect of prescription drugs on their babies and discovered that the drug thyroxine, used to treat thyroid deficiency, and amphetamine-based slimming pills appear to influence homosexuality among female children.

The results show sexual orientation is affected by prenatal rather than social factors, with mothers of homosexual girls proving eight times more likely to have taken those pills — most noticeably with daughters whose mothers took them during their first three months of pregnancy.

Professor Lee Ellis and his team at Minot State University, North Dakota, compiled the study using the mothers of more than 5,000 students. They discovered thyroid pills were taken by 5.2% of the mothers of lesbians but by only 1% of mothers of female heterosexuals. Slimming pills were taken by 2% of mothers of lesbians but only 0.2% of mothers of heterosexual children. The findings will appear in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, next month.

They also discovered that women who suffered prenatal stress were more likely to have a male homosexual child.

So does that finally confirm that homosexuality is genetic after all? Must read...

*notes down yet another journal article to find in his spare time*

*yawn* Thats it, i'm outta here.
