Wait, i have a blog?

Well damn its been a while, eh? ;)

Ok, to be truthful it was mainly because i've spent the entire intervening time working full-time as a temp for ABB with the laughingly pathetic title of an 'inventory accountant' on their factory floor, and i only just finished my work with them on Tuesday. All i was basically doing was going over their inventory (duh) and handling their shipping orders on SAP - which was about the only real benefit of the job since i get to put this down on my CV. And, hey, its a little hard to blog when you have to wake up at 6:30am every morning... Still, the extra cash was worth it and it always feels better to be earning.

Which brings me to my master plan for the next three months! :)

I've temp-ed quite a few times before but this time i think i want to go all the way and try out a variety of job... 'categories' for one month long periods. First up - waitering, followed by something in direct sales (ugh), and then maybe events promotion of some sort or bartendering. Variety is the name of the game here and, hell, the cash isn't overly important... i just want to take the opportunity to try out some new experiences - the more diverse the better!

The ultimate goal job? Manual labour! ;)

Ok other than this not too much has happened... about the most significant change has occured from my brother's arrival last week. Oh, and more importantly - the arrival of his PS2, which has proved to be highly effective at destroying any time i would have otherwise spent on my blog. ;)

So... er... yeah.

Can't think of anything else to say at the moment and, hell, this dual purpose oif this post was just really meant to get the ball rolling again as well as clean the slate, as it were, of all the past happenings which i failed to note down.

That, and i'm damn tired from doing nothing but playing LAN games all day.

Oh, and as for that spaceport thing i put on the tagboard, it was actually this...

Malaysia may be first in Asia to launch tourists into space

No, really!

Malaysia will be the first Asian country to operate a space tourism centre by 2010 if plans to build a multi-million ringgit spaceport facility in Perak takes off.

Bristol Spaceplanes Limited director David Ashford said it would take two years to develop a demonstrator of its sub-orbital space plane, two more to build a prototype and another two for flight-testing before passenger flights could start.

"Space tourism is an emerging industry and operational flights have not yet started anywhere in the world.

"The first spaceport with a fleet of five vehicles for passenger-carrying will be established at Mojave in the United States. They hope to start operating in 2007," he said in an e-mail interview.

On Nov 12, Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Tajol Rosli Ghazali was reported as saying that the company had approached the state to set up the RM480mil project to promote space tourism in Malaysia.

According to him, if the federal government gave the go-ahead, the company would build the launch pad for the RM100mil Ascender sub-orbital space plane at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport. Nearby land would also be acquired for the project.

Tajol Rosli had also said the Ascender, which could reach a maximum altitude of 100km, could take up to two crew members and two passengers.

For a whopping RM70,000 per person, the facility will make it possible for the public to take a 90-minute trip to outer space and back.

Ashford said the Ascender took off and landed like a conventional jet plane, so there would be no infrastructure costs other than those for building propellant storage facilities, which were not expensive.

On whether it would be a fully private-sector initiative, he said the company was in discussion with the Government but he expected the project to involve international collaboration.

"The idea is for Ipoh to become the first spaceport in Asia," he said.

Ipoh. As a SPACEPORT.

Boggles the mind doesn't it? Hell, lets just hope it doesn't turn into the equivalent of a KL city bus terminal... (i STILL to this day cannot believe that someone TOOK A DUMP in the sink there).

I need to sleep now - the whole gang is coming over for tennis and swimming at my place tomorrow.

Regular postings from now on!

All hail the return of the p@tt@r!

Huzzah!
