"No pimp cream for me - i like it the old fashioned way!"0 commentsMood: Ho Hum... Currently listening to: Love Don't Come Easy - Diana Ross & The Supremes Yeah, the current oldies downloading addiction is still running its course... Erm, don't mind the title. ;p Here's a quick hello to my poor little neglected blog, and another fleeting promise that i'll be resolving myself to updating more frequently in the near future (hah!)... (Actually, i blame the lack of functionality from the Rich Text Editor and WYSIWYG tab for the lack of updates. Anyone else having problems there or is it just me?) Dammit, i don't even feel like writing this. So, yeah, its been a week and a half... Last, last week(end): Went to Luna with Joa, Chen Hoe, Sneexe, Jules and a gaggle of Joa's secondary school friends. It was a pretty cool experience since its located at the top of the Pan Global building which makes for a nice view of the entire KL skyline... hell, you even get to piss on the city in the toilet thanks to its urinal/30th floor window (well, the men get to at any rate)! The decor is pretty neat too since the whole place is centered around a pool... hrmmm, i think Sneexe took some pics... The only downside about it were the prices (RM400 for a Chivas!!! Ouch!) and the fact that if you didn't come before 10pm you'd have to pay RM50 entry with absolutely nada in return. Still, got to hang out with Joa's friends (including a certain someone that JJ would... nah, on second thoughts, lets not go there... ;p), go mamak and drink copious amounts of whisky so it wasn't all bad... ;) Saturday was the usual hectic day it is for me but i managed to organize a sizeable gathering in the evening which included (almost) everyone - a rare feat these days... Had dinner with Joa, Jules, Al, and Sneexe at California Pizza Kitchen at KLCC followed by a night of jazz music at Alexis in Ampang where we were joined by Zamil, Chen Hoe, Alvin (+ Miyuki) and, of course, Serina who came straight from the airport. A good night (despite some mediocre singing at times) and something which i'll have to organise again sometime... (note to self: When booking a table, 'best in the house' usually refers to the one RIGHT in front of the band - ergo, some difficulty in conversing...) Sunday was... different. Ended up dancing (and doing some yoga?) with Serina, Sneexe, and Al at his apartment. I shall say no more - use your imagination. ;p Last week: The usual boring stuff... uni, uni, uni... met up with Serina for lunch a few times since i'm the only one who doesn't work... had Bak Kut Teh and coffee with Serina, Al, and CH on Monday (?) night, and we all went to this funky little jazz/blues bar and restaurant called Bangkok Jazz with Serina's friends Grace and 'Love' on Wednesday night... Hrmmm... now that i think about it, a lot of details escape me from that middle of that week. Just as well i suppose... (sorry again Serina) On the bright side i do remember reading One Child and Deception Point... One Child was the more memorable one by far and... and you'll just have to read it (think there's a synop on Serina's site)... JJ came down for the weekend and we spent Friday night watching the Appleseed anime movie i bought the other day... The new CGI style is impressive but i dearly wished that there was a bit more action... Ah well. We went out for a pizza dinner at Sarpino's on Saturday night with pretty much everyone (thanks to JJ - even Siak Kong showed up!) and the majority of us ended up going to my dance studio's bi-yearly salsa night... Seeing as Sneexe has put up most of the details (including a review of each of our dancing styles [wtf???]) i'd recommend that you go read her take on it because i am just about to slam my head into the keyboard. Lets have a gander: Pippin: Curious combination of noncommital, and very correct. Fluid and graceful. Poised and light on his feet. A very subtle dancer, almost but not quite to the point of being withdrawn. Fuzzy is not quite the right description; perhaps... just... not exactly crisp / defined. Potentially displays musical sensitivity, but on account of noncommittalism, this remains largely unconfirmed. (Perplexing that, how does one dance the salsa non-committally and still... get it? Must come from learning with one's parents. Rather like waltzing with one's dad. Ah okaay- that might be it.) Great. Yet more proof that i'm a walking contrdiction/schizoid. And no, i don't dance with my father (or rather, he doesn't dance)... Sweet Jeebus, i am now officially sleepy. The rest of the week doesn't bear anything of import up to, and including, today. I do, however, have a job now and will start working as NSS (Network Security Services) starting Monday NOT in their R&D facility as an intern tech monkey (its in CYBERJAYA - urgh) but, after some discussion and outright pleading, as an intern/assistant/personal assistant in their Corporate Affairs/Marketing department. Not as interesting as the Cyberjaya position but hey, anything that pays RM1000/mth for 20 hours a week is awesome in my book. :) My immediate superior is, by all accounts, an ex-flyboy in the Indian Air Force (Flankers no less)... come to think of it, almost everyone here is ex Indian Armed Forces from the CEO (Special Forces - with pics to prove it!) and COO (retired Major General in Signals) to middle/lower management... I'm liking this already! Currently chatting with Seli... i mean, Ratstar, on Messenger - you can check out the conversation here. Sleep. Now.
