A Quiet Moment

Doo wob wob.

Eh?

*ahem*

Anyhow... yesterday was a pretty typical day for the most part with work in the morning, gym in the afternoon, lunch at 4pm, and uni lecture in the evening. Shit, two major assignments due on the 9th and the 20th. Expect blog posts to dwindle by then... :(

Went for a family dinner at this pretty nice chinese seafood restaurant near (in?) Damansara for my cousin's send off (damn hard to find wan - its in an 'authentic kampung' within sight of Atria). Looks like my cousin Karen is getting married in March to Angus in Adelaide (yes! An Aussie Scotsman! The blood of the Si mingles freely once again!). Wah... so many weddings in the pipeline this year... lets see:

- Bill and Ria (my hostel mates from Aus) are getting married in the US come October

- Amir (old primary & secondary schoolmate) and... well i don't know her... in September

- Jolly Lucifer and his mystery woman, they tied the knot a couple of months ago but they plan to have a big proper wedding ceremony some time next year (i think) in Sri Lanka.

Yowza!

Anyhow, after the dinner, i went over with Al, Leonard, Joa, Alvin & co for Elaine's birthday down in Klang. Long story short, there was lotsa booze, food, a few awkward moments, people i actually knew, some new people who i got to know, loud guffaws, and even a perpetually horny blind dog with his balls intact living in a house with a bitch (oh, the torment)... ;)

Mmmm... think we were all pretty tipsy by the end of the night and we finished it off with mamak and some catching up at Bestari's with Joa and Jules (shit, hard to believe he hasn't been down in three weeks straight! Gotta be a record!).

Btw, congratulations to Jules on escaping the ranks of the Singaporean unemployed! Someone's buying b33rs tonight... :)

Other than that today is turning out to be a pretty slow day in comparison thanks to my French class having been cancelled today. Went for dance class in the afternoon though and we've finally wrapped up the Quickstep. Looks like there's a three week break until we recommence but in the meantime one of the ladies in class is going to be teaching me the Cha Cha and Rhumba during this time (since i'm the only one in the class who doesn't know either of these)...

Shit, is it 7pm already?

*ack*

Better get my ass over to Al's place - we're goin' Vietnamese tonight! :)

Observation: I can't help noticing how much my social life has picked up in recent weeks (months?). Consecutive weeks mind you! I still recall a time not too long ago when me and Al would sit in the Chinese kopitiam in Hartamas on Friday or/and Saturday night and wonder what we were doing wrong (and devising all sorts of insane plans to make our weekends more worthwhile - at the last count we only did 2 out of the 10 things on that list, although Joa still strangely continues to obsess over the gay bar/Liquid idea).

I don't know what we did - if anything - but all i know is that its working... ;p
