Weekend Recap Thingy

Mood: Well rested
Currently listening to: Just Dance - Jamiroquai
Thought Of The Day: "It's not a handjob!!!" - Tan, Joa Quim

Ahhhh... a nice relaxing four day weekend to ease away the pain of the last four weeks of hell.

Sweet.

Crap, gonna make this quick... (boring i know, but it IS the reason for this blog's existence)

Thursday: Holiday! Didn't do much (that i can remember at any rate). I DO recall spending the better part of one and a half hours driving to Megamall, AND another *censored* one and a half hours back, to pick up 12 *censored* bottles of Miracle Whip and then going to Alvin's place in the evening for shisha, coffee, and to celebrate of Al's birthday...

Can you guess what i got him? ;)

Friday: Another holiday! Spent most of it in bed (i think...) or playing Civ 3 (sad, i know) and going to uni for my afternoon/evening lecture (ugh). Did meet up with Alvin, Al, and... ah... someone else (doh! Me so bad at names) for lunch at Taman Tun (some place called 'Touch My Buns' or something). Of course, in classis Patrick reality i overslept and all i did was smoke, chat, and stare at their empty plates. Doh...

Evening was better though since we went for some jazz at Alexis with a whole swag of people (14! Count 'em!) including Chen Hoe, Al, Sneexe, Alvin, Diana, Kwong Heng and birthday boy Zamil! Hell, i even got to spoke to Janice in Aus on his mobile which was also a great and rare event in itself (hello!). Had a good time, and for once i wasn't even listening to the music... ;)

Top 3 highlights of the night (probably only decipherably by those who were present):

- Getting scolded by the manager(ess) three times for booking this HUGE table for 14 at 10pm when for the most part it was just me and Chen Hoe sitting there until everyone else arrived at 11:30pm, whilst this horde of people standing at the bar gave us some seriously dirty looks. Suffice to say, ebil woman confiscated two of our tables... *sniffle*

- The whole "look! look! This pack of cigarettes has Japanese on the side!" thang... You had to be there. ;p

- Kwong Heng's molestation of my fist upon bidding him adieu. Wtf man???

Saturday: Busy day as usual what with dance and French class during the day. A bit surreal even, since i had to profess my undying love on my knees to another guy while fixing a TV.

Of course, he was supposed to be a girl and we were just play acting a scenario in French like we do every week... What the hell were YOU thinking? ;p

Quiet evening spent at Alvin's place with him, Diana, Al, Nick, Ken and Joa playing five-way Halo on the Xbox(es).

I suxxor.

Fucking controllers.

Sunday: Pretty sweet day actually. Woke up, and went for a classic yum cha Sunday brunch with Al at That Little Dim Sum Place in Hartamas followed by some gelato after we got talked into it by the serving girl (wench?). The dim sum was some seriously good stuff, and to be fair its been quite some time since i last had a proper yum cha - highly recommended!

Shit man, what a great way to start your Sunday... The sun was shining, the birds were singing, the steam from my siew mai was mingling with the smoke from my cig... ahhh, bliss.

Anyhow, spent a few hours at home doing some paper work after that (guilty conscience wat) and then met up with Joa, Al, Leonard and Chen Hoe for Bak Kut Teh (mmmm) at this place in Hartamas Shopping Centre/Plaza Damas... Nothing overly exceptional, but not too bad either. Still, at least its close by.

Went for coffee at Starbucks after that and we were joined by Gavin and Marina (yes, she of the... ah... 'you know what'). Conversation excerpt (kinda) follows:

Marina: Wah! You have such nice hands! Are you free tomorrow?

(jeez, no man could EVER get away with a line like that)

Joa: No i have an interview - why? Whats this about?

Marina: Well, we're looking for a hand model!

Pat to Al: HAND JOB! *guffaw*

*snicker*

Erm... many more comments were passed but i think i'll just leave it at that... *wink*

Went to Al's with Joa after to watch some soccer. In the meantime she was absorbing the Go Fug Yourself archives (hilarious site btw - check out the comments) ;p

Today: Uni. Work. Reality. :(

Hrmmm... about the only eventful event (hrmmm... sounds... wrong) of the day occured as i was walking back from work and i got invited for beers with my CEO (Jag) and Jeremy (who works in Finance down the hall). Three beers, wine, and three plates of garlic prawns later and i'm suddenly absorbing some seriosuly useful (and occasionally dubious) 'lessons in life' from these two veteran expats. All i shall say here (since i've been sworn to secrecy lest anything i say fall into the hands of others at work[!]) are that:

1. Their libidos are definitely intact.
2. Its refreshing to see these two being so carefree - maybe a little too much at times! And judging by the stories they've had some seriously good times...
3. I should quit smoking and do more running (these guys - especially Jag - are EXTREMELY fit for their age)

But the bottom line: Free b33r. :)

Shit, me sleep now. Conference at Putrajaya tomorrow at 9:30pm.
