Bom Brazil & Aero Frangipani

What, you thought i'd forget about planning for this weekend's dinner?

For shame! ;)

So, yeah, if you haven't guessed it already we're going Brazilian (finally!) this time around at Bom Brazil! Yup, we've been talking about it for ages and now that everyone seems to be around KL at the same time i figure that the time's about right. And this place has a rep! I mean, any place which serves all-you-can-eat is fine by me - check out the review:

If there were any one place to be immersed in all that is Brazilian, that would be Bom Brazil located at 35 Changkat Bukit Bintang KL. What you'll experience at this unique restaurant is a dining style called Churrascaria. The cooking methods and service at Bom Brazil honour that of the traditional old Gaucho's - except today's grilling machine uses infrared heat instead of an open fire. The menu consists of grilled marinated beef, poultry and seafood on long skewers plus a self-served buffet of soup, pasta and salads.

Churrasco waiters visit your table slicing sizzling-hot roasted meats from skewers directly onto your plate until of course you can eat no more. Wednesday nights are for ladies, where the gals get free sangria all night long. If you're lucky, you mjght even catch a samba and capoeira demo the same night. Dinner is RM 65 nett per pax from 6pm to midnight daily.

Mmmm... Churrasco. My new favourite word. *drool*

So, yeah, as the article mentions, the address is as follows (you can find a handy location map here as well):

BOM BRAZIL CHURRASCARIA
35, Changkat Bukit Bintang,
(Same row as Park Inn Hotel)

And thats not all folks! This week's post-dinner party will be held at none other than the veeery mysterious (and seriously funky) Aero Restaurant & Lounge!

(Mysterious because everyone i know has seen it before - but no one's actually ever gone in!)

Time to change things a little doncha think? ;)

Anyhow, from what i gather on the website (check out the 'People' section!) its a pretty decent restaurant of its own but they also have a pretty extensive cocktail selection (ranging from RM14-20) and the usual beer selection. Oh, and did i mention the furniture?

Bottomline? It looks good people! A map can be found on the website but if memory serves me right it should be right in front of the Istana Hotel.

Addendum:

YEEEEAAAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

Godammit, Aero is actually closed for renovations until later on in the month! Which means that its just as well that i actually went down there tonight in person to check things out...

*deep breath*

But i've come up with an alternative! We'll be going to Frangipani (click for address details) for the post-dinner drinks which is a great choice since:

1. Its only two doors down from Bom Brazil so you won't need to drive and park elsewhere for a second time.

2. Its got some GREAT decor and some nifty chill out music.

3. The drinks are relatively on par with other places (RM15 for a Heineken for example) and the service is good. As a plus, bottles are reasonable (RM350 for Chivas) and come with all the coolers you can drink all night long.

4. It doesn't have a cover charge or any other charge for the table booking - neat!

5. Its a lot bigger than it looks...

Seriously though, i checked it out myself and it looks NICE! ;)

Check out the comments on it (from Kakiseni):

Frangipani, undeniably ranks as one of the collest chill-out place in the world, comparable to other trendy chill-out bars in london, new york, paris, singapore, sydney...

The decor exudes a contemporary artistic pop culture while maintaining its very distinct simplistic chill-out feel...the crowd is pretty cool (though quite pretentious) - you'll find large groups of cliques here and there, great place to hang-out with close friends, not for the lonely hearts! The chill-out music is simply astounding!!

Have not tried the bistro. But will definitely give it a try for the world the next time i visit kuala lumpur.

Overall impression? Great, just great!

I've got a good feeling about this weekend's arrangements! :)

And yes, we'll get to Aero again once it reopens ok?

Right, here's the usual breakdown/disclaimer thingamabob:

Dinner is at 8:30pm as usual and, as per procedure, if you're interested in coming kindly either leave a comment here (preferred!!!), email me, phone me, or get in touch with Leonard for additional details and/or bookings (by Thursday afternoon please) with details on which event(s) you are coming for and how many friends/mistresses/family you will be bringing. As always, anyone who reads this is welcome to come - we love making new friends so don't shy shy wan! :p

See you there!
