Chikuyo-Tei & Aero

Right, here's to hoping that we're all set for yet another gastronomic adventure!

Chikuyo-Tei

This time around we'll be going, on Ken's advice (woo! Disclaimer!), to the Chikuyo-Tei for a Japanese buffet of sorts. I've really got precious little information to go on since there was next to nothing on the net about this restaurant, but apparently for about RM60 you can partake in a very nice buffet spread... (although, from what i gather, its not in a typical buffet manner - its basically a limited menu from which you can pick an unlimited number of dishes).

Still, it seems like more than a few people have commented on the 'price-to-my-mouth' quality ratio and from the sound of it, its well worth the money.

Anyhow, here's what i DID find about it:

The Chikuyo-Tei, a Japanese restaurant set in a stylish contemporary interior serves Teppanyaki, Sushi and traditional Japanese Casserole dishes. There are three main sections; a Sushi counter cum a-la-carte dining area, four private tatami rooms and a Teppanyaki counter that overlooks a quaint Japanese Garden. The Chikuyo-Tei is a 90 seat restaurant set in hues of brown.

Mmmm... brown rooms. ;p

Location is, i repeat, the Hotel Istana at 73 Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur. If you don't know where this is you seriously need to get out more. But just in case:

Anyhow, more information once i've gleaned some details from a quick visit to the place tomorrow.

Aero

For those of you who know, i originally wanted to go to Aero aaaaages ago but the placed closed down for renovations and whatnot... Still, here's to hoping that they've reopened (no, i haven't checked just yet) and that we'll finally be sipping drinks on funky 50s airport couches. ;)

Erm... since i'm so lazy i'm just gonna copy the details i put up the last time (btw, their website url doesn't seem to be working anymore... not a good sign!):

And thats not all folks! This week's post-dinner party will be held at none other than the veeery mysterious (and seriously funky) Aero Restaurant & Lounge!

(Mysterious because everyone i know has seen it before - but no one's actually ever gone in!)

Time to change things a little doncha think? ;)

Anyhow, from what i gather on the website (check out the 'People' section!) its a pretty decent restaurant of its own but they also have a pretty extensive cocktail selection (ranging from RM14-20) and the usual beer selection. Oh, and did i mention the furniture?

Bottomline? It looks good people! A map can be found on the website but if memory serves me right it should be right in front of the Istana Hotel.

Right, here's the usual breakdown/disclaimer thingamabob:

Dinner is at 8:30pm as usual and, as per procedure, if you're interested in coming kindly either leave a comment here (preferred!!!), email me, phone me, or get in touch with Leonard for additional details and/or bookings (by Thursday afternoon please) with details on which event(s) you are coming for and how many friends/mistresses/family you will be bringing. As always, anyone who reads this is welcome to come!

See you there!
